Home and Community Based Services (HCBS)

Home and Community Based Services are Medicaid funded services that can be provided in a variety of community setting and are available to individuals that meet both functional and financial requirements.

Home Care Allowance

A special non-entitlement allowance for the purpose of securing services to an individual of any age, in his/her home, based on the case manager's assessment. Eligibility for and authorized amounts of the HCA are subject to available appropriations. 

Long Term Home Health (LTHH)

Services are provided to individuals who qualify for long-term care services under Medicaid ie. Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) who are 18 years of age or older who have a qualifying “skilled” care need. LTHH services are provided in the individual’s place of residence (home/assisted living), services are provided under a plan of care developed by the Home Health Agency and the individual and/or his/her family and services are provided on an intermittent basis.

Nursing Home Care

Part of the standard Medicaid benefit package under Long Term Care.
