Adult Protection

Adult Protection (AP) serves as a program that helps connect the “at risk” adult with services and resources. An “at risk “ adult is defined as an individual 18 years of age or older who is susceptible to mistreatment or self-neglect because the individual is unable to perform or obtain services necessary for the individual’s health, safety and welfare.

Area Agency on Aging

Whether you are an older adult yourself, or a caregiver concerned about the well-being and independence of an older adult, The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is ready to help. The AAA plans, coordinates and offers services that help older adults remain in their home, if that is their preference, aided by services such as Meals-on-Wheels, homemaker assistance and other programs needed to make independent living a viable option.

Assistance - Elder and Disabled Programs

Assistance is available for low-income elderly or disabled persons that meet the specific program eligibility requirements. Assistance is also available to assist with paying for the premiums for Medicare Part B for individuals or couples that meet the specific program eligibility requirements. Eligibility requirements may include income, resource, age, and disability guidelines.

Options for Long Term Care

This is your one stop shop for help with long term care resources. The population served is generally individuals over the age of 18 who are in need of long term care services.

Veterans

The Mesa County Workforce Center ensures that all eligible veterans are provided with maximum employment and training opportunities, with priority given to disabled veterans and campaign veterans. Veterans who are ready, able, and qualified for jobs in which they are skilled receive assistance with referrals to jobs by Workforce Center Staff. Veteran's preference is given for referrals if the veteran meets the employer's qualifications for the positions listed through the JobLink system.
